This training product covers the Disability Discrimination Act (the DDA) and explains how one puts it into action
It is delivered in 6 modules:
1. You and your organisation
This module will enable you to understand how the DDA may affect your organisation, by examining what "disability" means
2. The DDA
This module focuses on the DDA – this deals with the rights of disabled people and the duties and responsibilities of employers and service providers
3. Making services more accessible
In this module you will look at how you and your organisation can make your services more accessible and user friendly for disabled people
4. Making information more available
In this module you will concentrate on how your organisation can make information more accessible
5. Making the DDA work
This module looks at making the DDA work in practice
6. The Disability Equality Duty for Public Bodies
This module examines what Public Bodies have to do in order to promote disability equality throughout their organisation and the community – it also looks at theDisability Equality Scheme and how to put it into action
